Becoming a Mom

Becoming a mom might be something that you haven’t really had the chance to think about in depth. If confronted, most women will admit to the fact that they have often dreamt about their future including a wonderful husband, kids, and even pets. There will also be many women who have not yet been able to picture themselves becoming a mother and raising their own children as their mothers have raise them to be. Whether you have taken the time to think about what becoming a mom means to you, it will happen to you before you know it. Just because you give birth, that isn’t all that makes up to becoming a mother. There is so much more to motherhood than the initial step of giving birth to a newborn.

The exact time sense of when becoming a mother takes place depends on the person however. Some women may feel as though they were born to be mothers and they feel as though their whole life prepares them for becoming a mother. Some feel as though they are becoming a mom once conception has occurred. And some feel as though they are becoming a mom once they are able to feel and listen to the heart beat of your baby inside of you. And for others, that moment doesn’t occur until they are physically holding their precious baby for the first time.

The exact moment of when you are becoming a mother cannot be officially declared. This moment depends on what different women feel in their own hearts. There is no other explanation or definition, you just know. Some women might feel as though they have spent their whole lifetime trying to perfect becoming a mom and still can’t quite seem to figure it out. Being a mother means so much that it cannot be summed up. Being a mother cannot be instructed or taught to anyone at will. Being excited about a baby that is to be your child forever is something words cannot do justice for. You prepare and prepare for your newborn, but you will still be greatly surprised.

The meaning of becoming a mother cannot be defined. So much is included when you are becoming a mom that makes every sacrifice worth it. One day it will just hit you, the fact that you are a mother. You are the caregiver to this child and will be raising him/her as your own. Everything from being pregnant for nine months up to giving birth and then dedicating your life to raising this child will be a lot of hard work. Although it is very hard to go through the entire process, it is an amazing blessing that exists in the world today. All of the sleep deprivation, tantrums, tears, and fights with your children will make this journey memorable. Becoming a mother you will realize many things you weren’t able to notice before. That is when you might find newfound gratitude for your own mother.
